James Folk Sr. Obituary

James L. "Jim" Folk Sr., age 88, of Tamaqua, passed away Saturday at Laurel Center in Hamburg.  Born in New Ringgold he was the son of the late James and Elsie (Hill) Folk.  He was a 1952 graduate of Tamaqua High School and served with the United States Army.  He had been employed by the former Kaier's Brewery in Mahanoy City and last worked for and retired from Draper and Yost Inc. of Tamaqua after forty plus years of employment.  He was preceded in death by his sisters Nancy Moerder and Sandra McGeehan and brothers Carl and Elwood Folk.  He is survived by his children James Folk Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Aiken, SC, Matthew Folk and his wife Susan of Schnecksville, Lori Folk-Barron and her husband Michael of Wallingford CT, David Folk and his wife Stacie of Barnesville and Donald Folk and his wife Heather of Quakertown, sisters Diane Boyer of New Ringgold, Ellen Stafiniak of Lehighton and Eilene Bowler of Reading, grandchildren Patrick, Amanda, Kristin, Jillian, Thomas, Ryan, Justin, Blake and Lexi.  A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.  Contributions in Jim's name to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. David D.
