Beverly J. Fazio

Beverly J. Fazio RN, age 76, of Barnesville, passed away Thursday night at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown. Born in Lebanon she was the daughter of the late Chester and Ethel (Heisey) Peters. She was a graduate of York Catholic High School and the York Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at hospitals in York, Washington DC, Grove City PA and various local hospitals last working for and retiring from the former Good Samaritan Hospital in Pottsville. She was a member of St. Richard's Church in Barnesville and a member of and 2nd Vice President of the Mahanoy City Woman's Club. Survivors include her husband William A. "Bill" Fazio to whom she would have been married 54 years August 3rd, 2 sons William A. Fazio Jr. and his wife Julie of Mahanoy City and their children Jolene, Justin, Jocelyn and William A. Fazio III, Peter Fazio of Norristown and his children Nicole, Catherine, Gianna, Peter and Nicholas 2 daughters Regina Dere and her husband William of Orlando, FL and their children Nichole, Isabella and Isaac and Denise Fazio of Wendell NC, a sister Bonnie Fitzgerald and her husband Buddy of York, PA 5 great grandchildren Mikayla, Blayze, Urijah, Masyn and Maddox and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday morning at 10 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Whalen at 10:30 AM from St. Richard's Church in Barnesville. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mahanoy Township. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 PM and again on Wednesday morning beginning at 8:30 AM. In Lieu of flowers contributions in her name to St. Richard's Church or contributions payable to William A. Fazio Sr. to be used to establish a nursing scholarship in Beverly's name for students of Mahanoy Area High School choosing nursing as their calling and will be accepted at the visitation.
