George J. "Kuff" Kufrovich, age 57, of Mahanoy City, died suddenly Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Hazleton after taking ill at work. Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital he was the son of the late George & Mary (Holovich) Kufrovich. He was a 1978 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and was employed by Hershey Foods in Hazleton. He was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City. George enjoyed fishing, camping at Rosemont, attending his daughter Brooke's swim meets and volleyball games and cheering on his favorite football team the Tennessee Titans. On his days off he enjoyed eating breakfast and watching Lets Make A Deal. He is survived by his wife of 34 years the former Susan Williamson, a daughter Brooke at home, a sister Bernadine Engleman and her husband Harold (Smokey) of Tamaqua, 2 brothers Eugene and his wife Irene of New Boston and Kenneth of Morea, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher at 10 AM from St. Teresa of Calcutta Church. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 9 PM and again on Tuesday morning beginning at 8:30 AM until time of service.
