Mary Ann Eck

Mary Ann Eck, age 78, of Mahanoy City, died Friday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East Norwegian St. in Pottsville.  Born in and a life long resident of Mahanoy City she was the daughter of the late Harold L. and Regina (Schreyer ) Eck Sr.  She was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School and had been employed with Guinan's Department Store formerly of Mahanoy City and had last worked for City Shirt Factory.  She was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City.  She is survived by a sister Patricia   Matrishin and her husband Robert "Mike" of Allentown, 2 brothers Harold L. Eck Jr. and his wife Ida of Jarrettsville, MD and David Eck of Geneva NY, an uncle Fritz Schreyer and his wife Gloria of Wapwallopen, 5 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews and cousins.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Tuesday morning at 10 AM from St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City.  Interment will follow in St. Fidelis Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.  Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning beginning at 9 AM until time of Mass.
