Rose M. Flamini

Rose M. Flamini, age 88, of Mahanoy City, died Monday afternoon at Shenandoah Senior Living Community. Born in Frackville she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Rose (Russel) Di Jinio. She was a 1946 graduate of Frackville High School and also a graduate of the Empire Beauty School. She owned and operated her own beauty shop in Mahanoy City from 1965 until her retirement in 2009. She was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City, a member and past president of the Pennsylvania Cosmetologist Association, Mahanoy City Woman's Club, the Red Hat Club and the Catholic Daughters of America. . Rose also worked for the American Cancer Society where her main interest was the "Look Good, Feel Good " initiative. She along with her husband also taught courses in hair styling at the North Schuylkill Vo Tech. She also received the Citizen of the Year award from the Mahanoy City Elks Lodge in 2003. Preceding her in death were her husband Joseph M. "Swing" Flamini who she married in 1954, brothers John, Joseph, Louis and Angelo Di Jinio and a sister Jean Dillman. The last member of her immediate family she is survived by one son Michael of New York City, and West Stockbridge MA nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Saturday morning at 11 AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta Church, Mahanoy City. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mahanoy Township. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning beginning at 9 AM. In Lieu of flowers contribution's in Rose's name the the Shenandoah Senior Living Community  Activities Fund, would be appreciated by the family. David D.
