Steven Gnall

Steven Gnall, age 90, of Mahanoy City, went to our Lord's home on Wednesday at his residence.  Born in Mahanoy City he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Stelmak) Gnall.  He was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School and was a United States Army veteran having served with the operating engineers.  He had been employed by ALCOA and last worked for and retired from the Mahanoy City Post Office.  He was an active member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Mahanoy City and assisted with many various church functions.  Preceding his in death in addition to his parents were his wife the former Dolores Slavitsky in 2009, three brothers Joseph, George and John Gnall and two sisters Ann Lucas and Dorothy Kaplafka.  Survivors include a daughter Dolores Hrubenak and her companion Mark Weaver of Bethlehem, 2 sons Steven J. Gnall and his wife April of Locust Valley and John Gnall and his wife Donna of Allentown, a brother Rev. Julian Gnall of California and 3 grandchildren Angela Hrubenak and Samantha and Sydney Gnall and nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City.  Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. James Carroll at 10 AM at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Mahanoy City.  Interment will follow in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM with Parastas service at 7:30 PM and again on Tuesday morning beginning at 8:30 AM.  Contributions in Steven's name to St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.  Please visit www.jarrettfuneralhome.com for more information.
