Andre P. Souchak Obituary
Andre P. Souchak, age 68, died unexpectedly at his home in Port Charlotte, FL. Andre was born to Mary & Peter Souchak and grew up in Mahanoy City, PA. He was a 1965 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, a biological science major in the College of Education. He began his teaching career at H.R. Edmunds in NE Philadelphia.
On Oct 8, 1966, he married Mitzi (Matilda) Cavella. Andre was the tax assessor for the cities of Wildwood, North Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, and Cape May Point. He and his wife also owned and operated the Hotel Roosevelt, Sandy Shores Motel, & Golden Harbor Restaurant from 1977 to 1984. He was preceeded in death by his parents and sister Sandra Souchak Barron.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Mitzi; brother Gregory Souchak and his wife Gail of Scranton, PA; a son, John Peter Souchak of Ventura, CA; a daughter, Stephanie Souchak May and her husband Michael of San Diego, CA; and three grandchildren -- Maya, Elijah, and Makayla.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial to be celeberated
by Rev. James Carroll and Noon Saturday from St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Mahanoy City.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in Mahanoy Township. Friends may call and
visit with the family at the church from 11 AM Saturday until time of Liturgy. In lieu of flowers
contributions in Andre's name to St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, c/o 621 W. Mahanoy Ave. Mahanoy City
