Andrew J. "Sock" Wargo, age 91, of Mahanoy City, died Saturday morning at his home.  Born in Mahanoy City he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Bush) Wargo. He was a 1940 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and served in the Marine Corps during World War  II.  He had been employed in the local coal industry and last worked for and retired from PPL. He was a member of  Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his son Andrew J. "Buzzy" Wargo, a sister Anna Remus and a brother John Wargo. Surviving include his wife of 64 years the former Jean Arlukowicz, a son David Wargo and his wife Karen of Fleetwood, a daughter Jeanmarie Flaim and her husband Michael of Reedsville, a brother Joseph Wargo of Delano, 2 sisters Lucy Trackim and her husband Ed of New Jersey  and Beth Gresh of Mahanoy City, five grandchildren  Angela, Amanda, Allison and Matthew Wargo and Dominic Flaim, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Thursday morning at 11 AM from Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church.  Interment with military honors will be in Assumption BVM Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.  Friends may call and visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 10 AM until time of Mass.  Contributions in Andrew's name to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church or Covenant Home Care 1223 Pottsville Pike, Shoemakersville, PA  19555 would be appreciated by the family.  David D.
