Ann Marie Schaar, age 83, formerly of Mahanoy City, died Thursday morning at Gilchrist Hospice in Columbia MD.  Born in the village of Trenton she was the daughter of the late Frank and Victoria (Chrosteck) Souchak.  She was a graduate of Delano High School and the McCann School of Business in Mahanoy City where she went on to become an instructor and later on an administrator as well.  Upon retirement from our area she and her husband the late Robert J. Schaar relocated to Salinas County California where she served on the local planning commission.  Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and her husband were her daughter Glynnis Ann Gelaro and a sister Josephine Bulcavage.  Survivors include her son in law Dr. Ronald Gelaro of Maryland, a brother Frank Souchak of Trenton village, 2 grandchildren Bryn and Peter and nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Frank Twardzik on Monday morning at 11 AM at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Mahanoy City.  Interment will follow at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown.  Friends may call and visit with the family at the church on Monday morning beginning at 10 AM.  There will not be any calling hours on Sunday.  David D.
