Bernard Mazur Obituary
Mr. Bernard "Bernie" Mazur, age 82, of Mahanoy City, died Monday morning at Shenandoah Manor. Born in the village of Vulcan, he was the son of the late Walter and Anna Mazur. He attended St. Casimir's School in Mahanoy City and served with the United States Navy. He had been employed at Kaier's Brewery and last worked for and retired from Atlas Powder Company. He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City and was a life member of the Park Crest Fish and Game Club.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife Margaret "Peggy" Mazur on May 27, 2012, two daughters Debbie and Nadine, and 2 brothers Walter and Leon. Survivors include one son John and his wife Beverly of Junedale, a sister Marcella Huber and her husband Jack of Jim Thorpe, a brother Michael and his wife Janice of Hometown, 2 grandsons Matthew and John as well as nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Friday morning at 10:30 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City with the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating. Interment with military honors will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.
