Bernice L. Seddon Obituary
Bernice L. Seddon, age 85, of Mahanoy City, died Monday evening at Shenandoah Senior Living Center. Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital she was a daughter of the late George and Florence (Heindreid) Kern. She was a 1945 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and worked in the local garment industry having last worked for Eagle Brothers. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Mahanoy City and the Lutheran Daughters. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband Warren C. Seddon Sr., 3 brothers William, George and Elom Kern and a granddaughter Cari Pogwist. Survivors include 2 sons Warren C. Seddon Jr. and his wife Sue of Locust Valley, Scott Seddon and his wife Ione of Gilberton, 2 daughters Alice Berger Shimukonas and her husband Anthony of Grier City, Judy Stevens and her husband Joseph of Coles, a brother James Kern of Florida, 7 grandchildren Warren C. Seddon III, Scott E., Kyle and Kristen Seddon, Tamie Joe, Janelle and Joseph Stevens Jr., 8 grandchildren Ali Rose and Alex Pogwist, Jilyan, Jianna and Zachary Seddon, Cole Stabinsky and Zavier and Zoe Swank, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Rite of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Fred T. Crawford on Saturday morning at 11 AM in Christ Lutheran Church, Main and Mahanoy Ave., Mahanoy City. Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery in Locust Valley. Friends may call and visit with the family at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of service.
