Carl R. Foeller Sr.

Mr. Carl R. "Bob" Foeller Sr. of Mahanoy City died Saturday morning at Schuylkill Center in Pottsville.  Born in Lavelle he was the son of the late Frank and Sara Jane (Zimmerman) Foeller.  He was a 1936 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and served with the Army Air Corp during World War II.  He had been employed in the local coal industry, worked on highway construction and last worked for and retired from Atlas Powder Company. He was a member of St. Paul's UCC, the American Legion and VFW all of Mahanoy City.  Preceding him in death were his wife Dorothy in 1983, 2 brothers Harry and Elmer and a sister Helen Blew.  Survivors include 2 sons Carl Jr. and his wife Gayle of Corpus Christi TX, Gary of Mahanoy City with whom he resided, 3 grandsons David, Stephen and Carl III,  a granddaughter Christina, great grandchildren Stephen, Taylor, Dylan, Hanna, Myriah, Luke and Charles and 2 nieces and 2 nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Wednesday morning at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City with the Rev. Dr. John H. Reid officiating.  Interment will be in the German Protestant Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of service.  Contributions in Carl's name to the endowment fund of St. Paul's UCC would be appreciated and will be accepted at the funeral home.  Please visit www.jarrettfuneralhome.com for more information.
