Catherine Schultz, 82, formerly of Mahanoy City, died on Monday August 28 at the Gardens at York Terrace in Pottsville.  Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital she was the oldest of five daughters born to Martin and Catherine Earley of Mahanoy City.  Raised in Mahanoy City, Catherine attended St. Canicus School and was a 1959 graduate of Immaculate Heart High School.  Following her 1963 graduation from Temple University she worked at various hospitals in the Philadelphia area.  Having childhood Polio did not deter her from achieving her goal of being a medical technologist.  Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Schultz in 1976 and her youngest sister Mary in 2021.  She is survived by her sisters Helen Lodanosky of Lewistown, Martina Lorent of New Boston and Margaret Mack of Pottsville.  Having no children of her own, Cathy had an important place in the lives of many of her nieces and nephews.  Valued by her family, Cathy also had a wide array of friends with whom she spent time.  These were people with whom she attended plays, went to dances, traveled with and enjoyed life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a grave side service to be held at St. Canicus Cemetery in Mahanoy Township on Wednesday morning at 11 AM.  Deacon David Henninger will officiate.  David D.
