Mr. Charles F. Humes, age 66, of Barnesville, died unexpectedly Thursday night at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital in Coaldale.  Born in Shenandoah he was the son of the late Charles and Esther (Blew) Humes.  He was a 1965 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and also served with the Army National Guard.  An electrician by trade he had been employed with Bethlehem Steel, Dorr Oliver, Reading Anthracite, Fiberite and last worked for and retired from M & Q Packaging in Schuylkill Haven.  He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, member and Vice President of the Ryan Township Fire Company, charter member of the Ryan Township Ambulance all of Barnesville and a member of American Legion Post 74 in Mahanoy City.  He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.  Survivors include his wife of 45 years the former Linda Garber, a daughter Jennifer Sullivan of Hometown, a son Michael and his wife Kara of Lake Hauto,  3 sisters Jean Bohar and her husband Ernie of Bethlehem, Elizabeth "Betty" Stefanov and her husband Robert of Florida and Christine Tinari and her husband John of Sugarloaf.  He is also survived by 4 grandchildren Matthew Sullivan, Megan Wilner and Jacob and Alec Humes and a great grandchild Ares Wilner, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Monday morning at 11 AM from  Christ United Church of Christ , Field and Church Roads, Barnesville with the Rev. Janet L. Kline officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9 AM until time of service.
