Claire Janov Barker, age 69, of Pottsville and formerly of Mahanoy City, died unexpectedly Monday at Schuylkill Medical Center South in Pottsville.  Born in Mahanoy City she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Ethel (Thompson) Janov.  She was a 1963 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and also the Einstein Medical College in Philadelphia where she received her degree in nursing.  Claire worked most of her career as a registered nurse and was of the Jewish faith.  Survivors include 2 sisters Penny Yutko and her husband Joseph of Buck Mountain, Deborah Alligood and her husband Vern of Centerville VA, a brother Bernard "Barry" Janov and his wife Debi of San Diego CA, nieces and nephews.
