Clarence J. Capiga Obituary

Mr. Clarence J. Capiga, age 93, of Frackville, died Friday evening at Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Born in Shenandoah he was the son of the late John & Stella (Foltz) Capiga.  He was a graduate of W. Mahanoy Township High School and owned and operated his Sunoco Gas Station in Shenandoah Heights. He was of the catholic faith. He was a WWII veteran having fought in battles in Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and the Ardennes Forrest and received the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal , Distinguished Unit Badge with 1 Oak Cluster, European African Middle Eastern Service medal with 6 Bronze Stars and 1 Arrowhead. Preceding him in death were a brother John and a sister Dorothy.  Survivors include his wife the former Helen Sabol, 2 daughters Geraldine Barrett and her husband Gordon of Palm Beach Florida, Janet Dahlquist of Holland, PA a son Clarence D. Capiga and his wife Linda of Shenandoah, 7 grandchiuldren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Services will be privately held. Contributions in Clarence's name to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family. David D.
