Clyde R. Schenk Obituary

Mr. Clyde R. Schenk, age 90, of Mahanoy City, died Tuesday night at his home.  Born in Ashland he was the son of the late Conrad and Emma Schenk. He was a graduate of Ashland High School and served with the U.S. States Marine Corp during  W.W.II in the Pacific Theater of Operations.  He retired from ALCOA  after 25 years of service where he worked as a machinist and tool and die maker.  He was a member and president of the former Holy Emmanuel  Slovak Lutheran Church in Mahanoy City and a life member of the West End Fire Company and F A & M 357 both of Mahanoy City.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Gil and Bob and 2 sisters Helen and Anna.  Survivors include his wife of 64 years the former Anne Petrucka, a son Paul of Mahanoy City and his fiance' Cindy Motsney, a daughter Martina Litwa and her husband Ronald of Roswell Georgia, a brother Harry and his wife Elsie of Lewisburg, 2 granddaughters Kim Bleyzgis and Marci Litwa, nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Rite of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Fred T. Crawford on Saturday morning at 11:30 AM from Christ Lutheran Church, Main and Mahanoy Sts., Mahanoy City.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Contributions in Clyde's name to the Holy Emmanuel Cemetery Fund  c/o 23 W. Maple St. Mahanoy City, PA  17948 would be appreciated.  David D.
