Eleanor "Ellie" Zakrewsky, age 93, of Barnesville, died Monday evening at Hometown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Born in Mahanoy City she was the daughter of the late John & Catherine (Touchinsky) Slotcavage.
She attended school in Barnesville and had been employed with General Cigar Factory.  She was a member of St. Richard's Church in Barnesville, the Delano and Rush-Ryan Senior Citizens and a member of the Ryan Twp. Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.  Preceding her in death were her husband John in 1989, a son David in 1993 and 4 brothers Charles, Albert, John & Francis and 2 sisters Josephine and Dorothy Marie.
Survivors include 2 sons John Zakrewsky Jr. and his wife Donna of Barnesville, Raymond Zakrewsky and his wife Joyce of Rock Glen, sisters Jennie Jeffries and Helen Wolfgang both of Frackville, Edna Romanick & Elizabeth Schaar both of Barnesville, a brother Richard and his wife Geri of S. Carolina, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Friday morning at 11 AM from St. Richard's Church in Barnesville.  Friends may call and visit at the church on Friday morning beginning at 10 AM  Interment will be private in Annunciation BVM Cemetery in Frackville.  Contributions in her name to St. Richard's Church would be appreciated and will be accepted at the visitation.  David D.
