Elizabeth R. Tempest, age 75, of Mahanoy City, passed away Monday at St. Luke's Hospital in Lehighton.  Born in Gilberton she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Clara Phillips.  She was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and was a member of the Gilberton United Methodist Church.  She had been employed by the General Cigar Factory and last worked for JE Morgan Knitting Mills in Hometown.  Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were a granddaughter Rachael Tempest, a grandson Brandon Deitzel and a half brother Henry McCabe.  Survivng are her husband of 55 years Thomas and a daughter Heather Deitzel and her husband Wayne of Barnesville.
