Emil Gnall Obituary

Emil Gnall, age 95, of Buck Mountain, passed away Thursday at the home of his son Gary.  Born in New Boston he was the son of the late Michael and Helen (Gensure) Gnall.  He was a 1945 graduate of Mahanoy Township High School and served three years with the United States Army during the Korean conflict.
He had been employed by the United States Government for 38 years having last worked for the Social Security Administration retiring in 1992.  He was a devout member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Mahanoy City and was also a member of American Legion Post 74 in Mahanoy City.  He enjoyed bowling, golfing with the senior league and also pitched horseshoes at Coaldale Rod and Gun Club.  Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife of 67 years the former Elizabeth Flaim, a son Thomas and his 7 siblings Michael, Frank, Daniel, Paul, William, Irene and David. He is survived by his children Ann and her husband John Bushick of Orange Park FL, Richard and his wife Nancy of Westminister MD and Gary and his wife Heather of Barnesville, a brother Edward and his wife Brunhilda of Bethlehem, grandchildren Robert, Hunter and Parker as well as nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. James Carroll on Tuesday morning at 11 AM from St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown.  Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning beginning at 9 AM.  Contributions in his name to the church or St. Luke's Hospice would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.  David D.
