Evelyn Diane Lesser

Evelyn Diane Lesser, age 81, of Mahanoy City, died Thursday night at ManorCare in Pottsville.  Born at the former Ashland State Hospital she was the daughter of the late Michael & Eva (Puka) Seritsky.  She attended Mahanoy Township Schools and worked in the dietary department of the Ashland Hospital.  She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Mahanoy City.  She enjoyed watching QVC, the Home Shopping Network, BINGO and circle find a word puzzles.  She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1998 and a sister Mary O'Neill.  Survivors include 5 sisters Patricia Perry, Dolores Miller and her husband Raymond, Debra Sendatch and her husband Robert, Sandra Kahley and her husband Donald all of Mahanoy City and Paula Potzner and her husband Joseph of Hazelton, 3 brothers John and his wife Tina of Frackville, Michael and his wife Mary Ann of Mahanoy City and Thomas and his wife Gloria of Shenandoah as well as nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Thursday morning at 10 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City.  Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. James Carroll at 10:30 AM from St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 PM and againg on Thursday beginning at 9 AM.  Contributions in her name to St. Mary's Church would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.  Please visit www.jarrettfuneralhome.com for more information.
