Gary J. Macek Obituary

Gary J. Macek, age 66, of Barnesville, died Monday evening at Lehigh Valley Hospital  Muhlenberg.  Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital he was the son of the late Stephen D. & Helen (Hmelar) Macek.  He was a 1966 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and had been employed in his family's business S.D. Macek Trucking.  He was a member of St. Richard Church of Barnesville, member and past president of Mahanoy City Rotary Club and member and past president of the Schuylkill Valley Corvette Club.  Preceding him in death was a sister Stephanie Rzeplinski.  Survivors include his wife of 35 years the former Beverly Yutko, a sister Bernadine Grocki of Newington CT, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrted by the Rev. Joseph Whalen on Monday morning at 10:30 AM from St. Richard Church.  Interment will follow at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown.  Friends may call at the church on Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 PM and again on Monday morning from 9:30 AM until time of Mass.  Mass intentions or memorial contributions to St. Richard's Church would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.  David D.
