Gene Soult Obituary

Gene W. Soult, age 73, of Barnesville, passed away Monday night at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital he was the son of the late Albert and Gertrude (Hanlon) Soult. He attended Mahanoy Area High School and served with the United Sates Navy during the Vietnam War. He had been employed by Reading Anthracite and last worked for and retired from CarTech manufacturing in Reading. He was a fan of the Eagles, Phillies and the Sixers. He was preceded in death by an infant sister Betty Lou Soult, a sister Carol Furman and a brother Kenneth Soult. He is survived by his wife of 51 years the former Margaret Kufrovich, a son Matthew at home, two daughters Jessica Soult at home and Krista Evans and her husband Ryan of Girardville, grandchildren Mason and Maura Soult and Witten and Wyatt Evans, nieces and nephews and his sidekick, his dog Rocko. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral to be held on Tuesday at 12:30 PM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. The Rev. Robert T. Finlan will officiate. Interment service with military honors will be at 2:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM and again on Tuesday beginning at 11:30 AM until time of service. Contributions in Gene's name to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.
