George F. Krall Obituary

Mr. George F. Krall, age 90, of Mahanoy City, died Friday morning at Celtic Hospice at Geisinger South in Wilkes Barre.  Born in and a life long resident of Mahanoy City he was the son of the late John and Dora (Warjick) Krall.  He was a 1944 graduate of Mahanoy City High School.  He had been employed as a meat cutter for A & P Markets and last worked for and retired as a cook from the former Coaldale State Hospital.  He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Caluctta Church of Mahanoy City,  the Mahanoy Area Historical Society and the Knights of Columbus.  Mr. Krall was a former Mayor of Mahanoy City and was a long time Mahanoy City Borough Councilman and also served as council president.  He also served as a coach for CYO basketball for many years. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were three brothers John, Stephen & Michael Demko, sisters Helen August, Katherine Anceravage and Dorothy Gimeno and an infant sister Theresa Krall.  Survivors are his wife of 63 years the former Kathryn Forgotch, a son Thomas and his wife Maria of Allentown, a daughter Kathleen and her husband Dr. Paul McCabe of Wyoming, PA, two sisters Mary Lehigh
and Patricia Ritsko, 4 grandchildren Nina and Cara Krall and Corinne and Colleen McCabe as well as many nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Rev. Martin F. Kern on Tuesday  morning at 11 AM from Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Drums.  Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning beginning at 9 AM.  Contributions in his name to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church or Mass Request in his name would be appreciated.  David D.
