Georgine A. Dowd, age 75, of Mahanoy City died Monday morning at ManorCare of Pottsville.  Georgine was the daughter of the late George and Catherine Miller and was a 1955 graduate of Mahanoy City High School.  She had been employed by the Mahanoy Area School District and was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church of Mahanoy City.  Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was a brother Eugene Miller.  Survivors include her husband of 52 years Joseph F. Dowd, a daughter Kathy Roman and her husband Edward of Collegeville, 2 sons Joseph and his wife Kelly of Mission Viejo, CA and Tim of Morea, 3 grandchildren Tyler Roman, Audrey Dowd and Brandon Wentz, nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Friday morning at 9:30 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher at 10 AM in Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church.  Interment will be private.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM and on Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.  Contributions in Georgine's name to CurePSP 30 E.
