Hazel B. Henninger Obituary
Hazel B. Henninger, age 89, of Mahanoy City, died Wednesday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center East in Pottsville. Born in Mahanoy City she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Emma (Cook) Williamson. She was a 1941 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and had been employed at Guinan's Department Store. Hazel was a faithful and active member of Christ Lutheran Church of Mahanoy City and was also a member of the Lutheran Daughters. Hazel was well known for her home made treats including cream puffs, cookies and chocolate covered cherries. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 2009 to whom she was married on December 1, 1941, a daughter Betty Ann Mahoney in 2009, and 2 brothers Paul and Thomas Williamson. Survivors include a grand daughter Audrey Reese and her husband Cliff of Collegeville, a son in law John F. Mahoney of Quarryville, 2 brothers Donald Williamson of Delano, Robert Williamson of Barnesville, 3 sisters Pauline Souchuck of Levittown, Emma Horvath of Hazelton and Joan Paxton of Ocean Grove NJ, her caregivers Judy Yiengst and Jeanette Amershek of Mahanoy City, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Rite of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Fred T. Crawford on Monday afternoon at 1 PM from Christ Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at German Protestant Cemetery in Mahanoy Township. Friends may call at the church on Monday beginning at 12 Noon. There will not be any calling hours Sunday evening or at the funeral home.
