Helen Hydock Obituary
Helen Hydock, age 96, of Mahanoy City, died peacefully Sunday morning at Shenandoah Senior Living Community. Born in Morea she was the daughter of the late John & Mary (Stetsko) Mellon. She attended Mahanoy Township School and worked for and retired from Russell Williams Factory. She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church and the Marian Guild and a former member of the Mahanoy City Senior Citizens. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, polkas, Bingo, game shows and working at St. Mary's Church bazaars as a "Pierogie Lady" and all activities at the Shenandoah Senior Living Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter in 1989 and a daughter Jean Ann in 1952 as well as brothers Theodore, John and Andrew and sisters Mary Drozdak, Anna Grosso and Irene Blew. A gram to all she will be deeply missed by her loving family including her 3 daughters Elaine of Mahanoy City, Patricia Eroh and her husband William of Northampton and Diane Zegley of Buck Mountain, a grandson James C. Zegley Jr. and his wife Melissa of Lehighton and a great grandson Bradley Mauriello, nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews and her four grand pets. Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Thursday morning at 9:30 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. James Carroll at 10 AM at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery in Mahanoy Township. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM
