James Frank Obituary

Mr. James J. "Jimmy" Frank, age 76, of Indiana, PA and formerly of Tuscarora, died Friday evening at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born in Pottsville and raised in Minersville, he was the son of the late James W. and Helen (Ehrhart) Frank. He was a graduate of Nativity High School and also attended the Ford Business School. He had been employed by the National Labor Relations Board, Van Huesen, Steco Trailers, Argo Knitting Mills, Boscov's, Shawnee Resort, Alfonso's Restaurant, Moravian Book Store and Inter-Media Marketing. Over the years he had resided in Minersville, Washington DC, Elizabeth NJ, Allentown, Saylorsburg, Pottstown, and Schuylkill Haven. He was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Church in Brockton where he served as a trustee and sang with the choir, St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Allentown, St. Bernard's of Clairvaux in Indiana, PA and Holy Protection Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Homer, PA, was a member of the Tuscarora Fire Company and was a volunteer at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. He is survived by two daughters Stephanie Bernardyn and her husband Mark of Gilberton and Janelle Tewksbury and her husband Justin of Allentown, 2 brothers John and his wife Marlene of Minnesota and Thomas and his wife Jean of New York, and one sister Patricia Green and her husband Raymond of Hegins and grandchildren Noel, Payton, Kendall, Madison, Victoria and Athena, his ex wife with whom he kept a friendly relationship Marian Marko Frank of Tuscarora, nieces, nephews and cousins. James was best know for his love of Christmas. He was known as Santa or St. Nick. He played St. Nicholas for several churches in Schuylkill and Carbon Byzantine Churches. He enjoyed cooking, baking, and becoming a social media guru in retirement. He cherished every moment with his family. He was proud of his six granddaughters and always excited to share news about "Pappy's Girls!" and kept a subscription to his hometown newspaper to share stories of his granddaughters activities. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. James Carroll at 11 AM Saturday April 17, 2021 from St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Mahanoy City. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Tuscarora, Friends may call at the church from 9:30 AM until time of Liturgy. David D.
