Jean Munn, age 74, of Mahanoy City, died Friday at Schuylkill Medical Center, South Jackson St., Pottsville.
Born in the village of Vulcan Hill she was the daughter of the late John and Sophie Walashunas.  Jean was a 1956 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and worked as a switchboard operator for Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Philadelphia. She also did cleaning for various Mahanoy City businesses and local residents.  Jean loved traveling with her cousin Theresa, her daily walks downtown, dining at the Corner Pub and embroidering and creating personal gifts for family and friends.  First and foremost however she was a devoted and loving mother and homemaker and cherished time spent with her family.  Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband Robert J. Munn in 2004 and a sister Mary Anne Pinkey.   Survivors include 3 daughters Jean Yousef-zai and her husband Shayan of Cleveland OH, Meg Bzura and her husband Marty of Shenandoah, Lydia Gimeno of Mahanoy City and her companion George Mammarella, a son Robert of Delano, a sister Nancy Richards of Mahanoy City.  She is also survived by her grandchildren twins Breanna and Angela, Karlee, Eddie and Rocco, her cousin Theresa Wychulis and her life long friend Shirley Mendofik, one nephew, and her dedicated and valued friends and caregivers at Shenandoah Manor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday morning at 11 AM at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher.  Interment will be in Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown.  Friends may call and visit with the family on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at David D.
