Jennie J. Romanofsky, age 94, of Morea, died unexpectedly Monday morning shortly upon arrival at Southwest General Hospital in Brunswick Ohio.  Born in New Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Julian and Mary (Segavage) Nortavage. She attended school in New Philadelphia and had been employed with General Cigar Factory.
She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City.  She enjoyed quilting and providing afghans for her family and was very active serving her parish for many years.  Preceding her in death were her husband Stanley, 2 sons Edward and Stanley and 5 brothers Lewis, John, Wally, Stiney and Edward.  Survivors include one son Robert of Hinckley OH with whom she was currently residing, a daughter Genevieve Long and her husband Ray of Rutherford Heights, PA
a brother Dom and his wife Betty of Mary D, 6 grandchildren Steve, Gail, Amy, Karen, Nelson and Laura and one great grandchildren Cameron and Tiffany, nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Rev. Kevin Gallagher on Friday morning at 11 AM at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City. Interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.  Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until time of Mass.
