Mr. John J. "Doc" Dougherty Jr., age 83, of Delano, died Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Hazelton.  Born in and a life long resident of Delano he was the son of the late John J. & Ruby G. (Foose) Dougherty Sr.  John graduated from Delano High School, he attended Penn State-Hazleton and McCann School of Business.  He was employed for many years at Fort Indiantown Gap before retiring as a computer specialist.  John had served as treasurer of the Delano Fire Company and had been a member there as well as several other fire companies in the area.  His beautiful tenor voice was heard at the church choir and with local Barbershopper singers.  He was a member of the Bears Head Club in Delano.  John was an avid Penn State sports fan and attended many games with friends.  He was preceded in death by 4 sisters and one brother, all at birth, as well as a sister Anne Dougherty Kisela.  Survivors include 2 sisters Grace Cady and her husband Joseph of Danville, June wife of the late James T. Arnold Sr. of Northampton, two aunts Helen Geisler of Abington and Gertrude Sandova of Whitehall, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Saturday morning at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City.  The Rev. Jane Hess will officiate.  Interment will be in Mt.
