John A. "Jack" Staconis, age 63, of Shenandoah, died Wednesday afternoon at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.  Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital he was the son of Helen (Prock) Staconis of Mahanoy City and the late John F.  Staconis.
He was a 1966 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.   He was the owner of Jack's Auto Body Shop in Mahanoy City where he learned his trade working side by side with his father "Bear".  He was a member of St. Casimir's Church in Shenandoah.  He was an avid Phillies and NHRA fan.  He was preceded in death by his wife the former Bernadette Uholik in 2005.  Surviving in addition to his mother are 2 sons John J. and his wife Lynn and Jonathan J. Staconis all of Shenandoah, a sister Debbie Morgan and her husband Bill of Frackville, a granddaughter Samantha and 2 nieces Ashley and Amanda Morgan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a religious service on Monday at 10 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City with Msgr.
