John M. Wonsock Obituary
John M. Wonsock, age 53, of Mahanoy City, died Friday at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital, he was the son of the late John & Doris (Blume) Wonsock. John was a 1976 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and a former member of the Washington Hook and Ladder Fire Company both of Mahanoy City. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants and Yankees. He had been employed with Fiberite Corporation in Delano.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years the former Paula Techentine, a son PJ and his wife Krissy of Barnesville, a sister Linda Bernadyn and her husband Robert of Mahanoy City, 2 granddaughters Kenna & Juliana, father in law Paul Techentine, sister in law Linda Amato and her husband Joseph of Mahanoy City, brother in law Todd Techentine and his wife LeAnn of Barnesville, nieces Marci Pollack and her husband Chris, Sara and Erin Techentine all of Barnesville and nephews Todd Techentine of Barnesville and Robbie and David Bernadyn of Mahanoy City and great nephews Andrew and Kyle Pollack. Relatives and friends are invited to John's funeral on Wednesday at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City with the Rev. Dr. John H. Reid officiating. Interment will be in the German Protestant Cemetery in Mahanoy Township. Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9 AM until time of services. There will no be any calling hours on Tuesday evening.
