Joseph DrakeDrahuschak Obituary

Mr. Joseph (Drake) Drahuschak, age 89, of Mahanoy Plane, died Monday morning at Shenandoah Senior Living Center.  Born in and a life long resident of Mahanoy Plane he was the son of the late Michael and Julia (Krayoskie) Drahuschak.  He attended Gilberton schools and was a World War II Army veteran serving in the Pacific.  He had been employed by the Reading Railroad.  He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City, the American Hose Company in Mahanoy Plane and the Frackville American Legion.   Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife Mary, an infant sister Mary and a sister Anna Robbins, and 5 brothers Andrew, Steve, Paul, Michael and Peter.  Survivors include a son Dr. Joseph Drahuschak of Schnecksville, 3 daughters Kathleen Drahuschak and Mary Patricia Yankus and her husband Joseph of Mahanoy City and Anne Linkchorst and her husband John of Mahanoy Plane, 4 grandchildren Kellie and Vanessa Linkchorst, Joseph Drahuschak Jr. and Kathryn Hahn and a great grandson Brennan Joseph Hahn, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Friday morning at 9:30 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher at 10 AM in Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Frackville.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 to 7 PM and again on Friday from 8:30 AM until time of service.  Contributions in Joe's name to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.  Please visit www.jarrettfuneralhome.com for more information.
