Joseph E. Kriner, age 71, of Mahanoy City, passed away Saturday surrounded by his family at Schuylkill Center in Pottsville.  Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Stanulis) Kriner.  He was a 1971 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and served with the United States Marine Corps.  He had been employed as a maintenance manager at Hamburg and White Haven Centers.  He was member of the St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City, the NRA and the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club.  Surviving are his wife of 42 years the former Mary Lyons, 2 daughters Christine Hutko of Lavelle and Jennifer Rex and her husband Patrick of Frackville, 2 brothers David and his wife Charlotte of Barnesville and Edward of Birdsboro, 3 grandchildren Kevin Hutko and Audrey and Eliana Rex as well as nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Friday morning at 10 AM from St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City. Interment with Marine Corps honors will follow at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown.  Friends may call the church on Friday morning beginning at 8:30 AM. David D.
