Joseph J. Oliva Sr. Obituary
Mr. Joseph J. Oliva Sr. age 80, of Mahanoy City, passed away Friday evening at Schuylkill Medical Center East in Pottsville. Born in Frackville he was the son of the late Sam and Anna (Petrusky) Oliva. He was a 1951 graduate of West Mahanoy Township High School and also attended McCann School of Business. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War stationed in Germany. He was employed as a pipefitter Local 154 of Scranton and last worked for and retired from KME in Nesquehoning. He was a member and past assistant fire chief of the Washington Hook and Ladder Fire Company of Mahanoy City, a life member of the NRA and also a member of the Disable American Veterans. He is survived by his wife of 56 years the former Audray Kline, a son Joseph J. Oliva Jr. and his wife Lynn of Barnesville, a daughter Lisa and her husband Stanley Sabol Sr. of Mahanoy City, 4 grandchildren Stanley Sabol Jr., Cory Sabol, Timothy Oliva and Jacqueline Oliva. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will not be any calling hours.
