Mr. Joseph J. Procopio, age 80, of Mahanoy City, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Tuesday December 13.  Born in Atlas May 2, 1936 he was the son of the late Belmont and Victoria (Griscavage) Procopio.  Joe was educated in Mount Carmel schools and went on to become a successful businessman.  He married Kathleen E. Cornelius on July 4, 1959.  Joe was the owner-operator of one of the first coin-op laundries in Mahanoy City area, then became "Mr. Paesano" with the opening of his Pizza & Hoagie Restaurant.  He was also the proprietor of Paesano's Auto Sales until his retirement.  Joe was an avid golfer and loved the game of poker.  He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed.  He was preceded in death by two sons Joseph Jr. and Gary.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years and a daughter Gina Werksman, 3 brothers, Belmont Jr., James and Charles Procopio and a sister Cettie Jansen. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Thursday December 22 at 11 AM from Saint Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers contributions in Joe's name to Missionaries of Charity 538 W. South St. Mahanoy City, PA  17948 would be appreciated by the family.  David D.
