Joseph W. Reardon Jr., 75, of Barnesville, died Thursday, July 17, at St. Luke’s Miners
Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.
Born June 2, 1950, in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary
(Coombe) Reardon. Joe grew up in Mahanoy City, graduating from Mahanoy Area High
School in 1968.
Joe taught electricity at the South Vo-Tech, Mar Lin, for more than 30 years, training
many students in the trade.
Joe loved racing Formula Fords in his younger years and was proud to hold his private
pilot’s license. A hobbyist, he enjoyed building model cars, airplanes and ships.
Joe lived life on his terms, loved meeting new people and could strike up a conversation
with anyone, anywhere.
In addition to his long-time girlfriend, Terry Rang, with whom he lived, Joe is survived by
the Coombe cousins and Terry’s siblings, nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday morning at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City.  The Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher will officiate.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning beginning at 9:30 AM until time of services.  Contributions in Joseph's name to Hillside SPCA would be appreciated and will be accepted at the visitation.  Please visit www.jarrettfuneralhome.com for more information.
