Joseph J. Roos Sr.

Mr. Joseph J. Roos Sr., age 90, of Hatfield and formerly of Mahanoy City, died Sunday afternoon at St. Mary Manor in Lansdale.  Born in Mahanoy City, he was the son of the late Phillip and Margaret (Starkey) Roos.  He attended St. Fidelis School and was a 1939 graduate of Mahanoy City High School.  He worked as an assembly technician for Moore Products in Springhouse, PA and resided the last 45 years in the Philadelphia, Lansdale and Hatfield area.  He was a former member of the K of C in Lansdale.  Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife Elizabeth in 2011 and 2 sisters Frances Smith and Carmelita Hirko.  Survivors include 1 son Joseph J. Roos Jr. and his wife Linda of Hatfield, 2 daughters Immaculata Barndt and her husband Dale of Red Hill and Denise Reilly and her husband William of Telford, 6 grandchildren Michele, Joann, Scott, Joe III, Bob and BJ and 7 great-grandchildren Sara, Shana, Christopher, Melissa, Joey IV, Ryan and Colin with 2 new arrivals expected in November and January and nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Friday morning at 11 AM at St. Mary Manor, 701 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA  19446.  Interment will be at 2 PM at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown.   A visitation will be held at St. Mary Manor on Friday morning beginning at 10 AM.
