Joseph M. Taris, age 68, of Park Place, died Thursday morning at his home.  Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital he was the son of the late Metro & Josephine ( Byer ) Taris.  He was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and was a member of Blessed Teresa of Caluctta Church in Mahanoy City.  He is survived by his sister Janie, with whom he resided and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Monday morning at 10 AM from Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church.  Interment will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.  Friends may call at the church on Monday morning beginning at 9 AM.  David D.
