Josephine A. Sklaris, age 92, of Mahanoy City, died Thursday morning at Shenandoah Senior Living Community.  Born in Shenandaoh she was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Sholtis.  She was a  graduate of area schools and last worked as a cafeteria aide for Mahanoy City Catholic School.
She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church and ladies auxillary of BPOE 695 and American Legion Post 74 all of Mahanoy City.  Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband Walter in 2013, brothers Joseph, John & Michael and sisters Mary Breznik, Anne Danshaw, Helen McSurdy and Frances Wheeler.  Survivors include a daughter Carol Whalen and her husband James of Mahanoy City, 3 sons Steven and his companion Sondra Dearling of Ashburn VA, Ronald and his wife Tamara and Donad all of Henderson Nevada, grandchildren Jamie, Janet & Terry Whalen, Becky, Alex, Daniel & Brian Sklaris, 3 great grandchildren Brennan, Erin & Violet Whalen, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Tuesday morning at 10 AM from Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church.  Interment will follow at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown.  Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning beginning at 9 AM.  There will not be any calling hours Monday evening.  David D.
