Karen L. Wagner, age 64, of Frackville, passed away Wednesday afternoon at her home. Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital she was the daughter of the late Charles and Betty (Morgan) Budwash. She was a 1974 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and received an associate degree in accounting from Mc Cann School of Business. Karen was the first female firefighter in Schuylkill County having served then with the Humane Fire Company in Mahanoy City. She was a member of the Friendship Fire Company in Frackville and enjoyed picking mushrooms. She had been employed as a gate attendant at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas, worked at Wegman's at High Ridge Industrial Park and last worked for and retired from the housekeeping department at Broad. Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation in Frackville. She is survived by her husband of 16 years Laurence "Red" Wagner, a son Edward Chescattie of Trenton, brothers and sisters Joan Klatka and her husband John of Weston Place, Charles and his wife Maureen of Morea, Betty Malacusky and her companion Cyril Kufro of Fountain Springs, Cheryl Souchack of Trenton, Kathy Sheirich and her husband Lester of Pine Grove, Gary and his wife Alice of Pine Grove and Terri Marowski of Grier City.
