Kathryn "Kate" Leisey, age 95, of Mahanoy City, died Wednesday night at Shenandoah Senior Living Community.  Born in and a lifelong resident of Mahanoy City she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jennie (Rinkenberg) Leisey.  She was a 1937 graduate of Mahnaoy City High School.  She had been employed with W.T. Grant Store for 31 years and last worked for and retired from Eagle Brothers Shirt Factory after 16 years of service.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mahanoy City where she served as a deacon and an elder.  Preceding her in death were 4 sisters Nellie Koval, Marion Ghares, Florence Callaway & Mary Paul and 2 brothers Edward Leisey and Charles Leisey Jr..  She is survived by one sister Esther Segilia of Plymouth MA, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great neices and nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Saturday October 10, 2015 at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City.  The Rev. Leon Morgan will officiate.  Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 10 AM.  Contributions in her name to the First Presbyterian Church would be appreciated and will be accepted at the visitation.
