Lawrence M. Picciano Obituary
Mr. Lawrence M. "Larry" Picciano, age 98, of Mahanoy City, died Thursday at ManorCare in Easton. Born in Mahanoy City he was the son of the late Henry and Lena (DeCesare) Picciano. He was a 1932 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the European Theater of Operations. He was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church and the VFW both of Mahanoy City. He worked in and retired from the natural gas industry. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were brothers Raymond, Louis, Joseph and Arthur. Survivors include 2 sisters Eleanor Sheehan of Levittown, Mary Risavy of Summit Hill and a brother Francis of Manville New Jersey, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Tuesday morning at 11:30 AM in Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City. Interment with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mahanoy Township. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:30 AM until time of Mass. David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City is in charge of arrangements.
