Mr. Leon J. Cunningham Sr., age 71, of Freeland, died Sunday morning at Mountain Top Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center.  Born and raised in Barnesville he was the son of the late Leon and Mary (Rounds) Cunningham.  He attended Mahanoy Township school and was a member of the United Church of Christ in Barnesville the Freeland Senior Citizens, American Legion and VFW. Preceding him in death was a sister Evelyn Cunningham.  He is survived by his wife the former Sharon D. Garber, a daughter Danielle Smith and her husband Eric of Freeland, a son Leon J. Cunningham Jr. and his wife Marcia of Hazleton ten grandchildren Leon III (LJ), Rebecca, Jordan, Jared, Christopher, Shania, Elizabeth, Ethan, Caleb and Shane and nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Thursday morning at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City with the Rev. Janet L.
