Lucy "Honey" Victoria Lucyk, 95, passed away Thursday morning at Hazleton General Hospital.  Born in Shenandoah to Boleslaus and Victoria (Antonavage) Wowak, she lived most of her life in Mahanoy City.   A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Honey's life was devoted to family and friends.  She was an outstanding cook.  Always the gracious host, Honey made certain that those she entertained did not leave hungry.  In addition to her first loves-family, friends, and food-she enjoyed crocheting, solitaire, reading, polka music, and "playing the slots".
Honey and her husband Edward Lucyk were proprietors of Ed Lucyk's Meats and Groceries in Mahanoy City, which they ran until Edward's passing in 1968.  She was later employed at Eagle Brothers Shirt Factory. Honey was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and husband, by her brothers John, Daniel, Leon, and a sister Della Wentz.  Honey is survived by her sons former State Representative Edward J. Lucyk, Barnesville, Dr. Daniel Lucyk, Conyngham; daughter Loretta Lieberman, Perry, GA,  granddaughters Tara (Lucyk) Gensler, Puerto Rico; Heather (Lucyk) Combee of Dover, DE Stephanie (Lucyk) Wiswall, West Chester, PA; Janet (Lieberman) Galvin, Winter Park, FL; grandsons Matthew Lucyk, Mahanoy City and Eric Lieberman, Perry GA; and her six great grandchildren.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Whalen on Monday morning at 10:30 AM from St. Richard's Church in Barnesville.  Interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.  Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9 AM until time of Mass.  Memorials in Honey's name may be made to either St. Richard's Memorial Fund or the Mahanoy City Public Library .  David D.
