Mary Eileen Ashfield

Mary Eileen Ashfield, age 71, of Mahanoy City, passed away Wednesday evening at her home.  Born in Coaldale she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Bernadette (Hanlon) Swetz.  She was a graduate of Marian High School and Empire Beauty School.  She had been last employed by Morgan Knitting Mills in Hometown. She was preceded in death by a sister Anne Gurka.  She is survived by her husband of 30 years Jay, 2 sisters Bernadette Hafer and her husband Ted of Lake Wynonah  and Alfreda Pugliese of North Carolina as well as nieces and nephews.
