Mary A. Kowalskie, age 96, of Mahanoy City, died Saturday morning at Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Frackville where she had been a resident for several years.
Born in Maizeville, July 11, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Zelinsky) Cushey.   She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Kowalskie in 2010.  Mary was the last member of her immediate family being preceded in death by 2 sisters Helen Alonis and Kathryn (Kay) Mazur and a brother John Cushey.  
Surviving is a son Bryan Kowalskie and his wife Barbara of Pleasanton California, a daughter Barbara Harper of Barnesville, 3 grandchildren Eric Kowalskie and his wife Jessica, Todd Harper and his wife Jessica, and Amy Harper Hogan and her husband Ryan, 4 great-grandchildren Xylia and Anaya Kowalskie, Steven Harper and Harper Hogan. Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Friday morning at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City with Rev. James Carroll officiating.  Interment will follow at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown.
Friends may call at the funeral home of Friday morning from 10 AM until time of service.  There will not be any calling hours on Thursday evening.  In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions in Mary's memory to the charity of the givers choice.  David D.
