Mary Lou Garze

Mary Lou Garze, age 88, of Mahanoy City, died Thursday at Broad Mountain Nursing & Rehabilitation in Frackville.  Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Anthony & Josephine (Saccone) DiSalvio.  She was a graduate of Philadelphia High School and had been employed with Garze's Cafe, Timm's Pharmacy, General Cigar and Russell Williams Factory.  She enjoyed to crochet and all types of crafts. She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church of Mahanoy City.  Preceding her in death were her husband Joseph Garze Sr. and several brothers and sisters.  Survivors include 2 daughters Linda Hayes and her husband Fran of Langhorne, Donna Marie at home, a son Joseph Jr. and his partner Scott Mavis of Yardley, a sister Ann Marie Demetrio of Feasterville and a brother Michael and his wife Pat of Philadelphia,  3 grandchilden Ronald and  Brian Hayes and Jacqueline Cubberly, and great grandchildren Robert, Jesse, Jordan and Samuel and nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Monday morning at 10:30 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charles Dene and 11 AM at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta  Church.  Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 until 6 PM and again on Monday from 9:30 AM until time of service.  Contributions in Mary Lou's name to the Activities Fund of Broad Mountain Manor would be appreciated.  Please visit www.jarrettfuneralhome.com for more information.
