Melissa Louise Mitchell

Melissa Louise Mitchell, age 33, of North Port, FL formerly of Philadelphia and Mahanoy City passew away Saturday August 4th in Tampa General Hospital surrounded by her beloved family and friends.   Melissa was born in Pottsville, PA on August 10, 1978 to Sandra (Casserly) Mitchell and the late Robert Mitchell who passed away on April 17, 2012. Melissa graduate from Mahanoy Area High School in 1996 and received a Bachelors of Science in recognition of the completion of the major in Psychology from Penn State University in May 2004.  Melissa is deeply missed by her mother Sandra of North Port, FL, her two boys Benji and Newpie, also Birdybird and Kit Kat, two grandmothers Louise Casserly of Mahanoy City and Ann Mitchell of Naples, FL, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father Robert, grandfathers William Mitchell and James Casserly, and an uncle James Casserly Jr.  A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday August 24th from 5 to 8 PM at the David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be directed to David D. Jarrett Funeral Home.
